The Psychology of Mass Shooters

 
Course Summary:
This course will examine what makes mass shooters and school shooters do what they do. With lots of film examples and case studies, participants will learn the warning signs that were ignored and could have made the difference. The class will go inside the minds of these mass shooters and see what role mental illness, if any, played in each case. 
 
Performance Objectives
1)Describe the underlying psychological issues common to most, if not all, mass shooters.
2)Explain to another what makes mass shooters and school shooters finally snap.
3) Identify juveniles and adults who are potentially capable of mass violence.
4)Use information gained in class for work with offenders and clients on their caseload.
