The Core Tenets of Mindfulness as Self- Care for Probation Officers


Course Summary:
Mindfulness is definitely a buzz-word these days, but what is it exactly? What are the core philosophies that are most helpful to understand and actively practice? How do you apply these core philosophies to everyday life and at work? In this course you will learn the essential toolkit of mindfulness and explore specific ways to apply the teachings within your role as a probation officer to promote self-care, wellness, and reduce unnecessary suffering in your life.

1.Apply a “beginner’s mind” in regards to mindfulness
2.Utilize mindfulness skills including practicing non-judgment
3.implement mindfulness skills to cultivate patience.
4.Practice the skill of surrendering control to gain empowerment.
5.Implement "acceptance" as a strategy to mental and emotional freedom. 6.Differentiate the difference between letting go and allowing and resignation.
7 Identify unhealthy perfectionism in order to work on it. 8.Utilize simple ways to apply mindfulness times of stress.
