Resilience through Rest

Course Summary:
In a world of over-stimulation, overproduction, and over-acceleration, the need to rest and replenish often goes unnoticed. When you couple this with a fast paced and high stress job like that of a probation officer, it is natural to find yourself accelerating through life so fast that your body and mind feel disjointed and you lose connection with the world around you. Being rest deficient can cause you to feel reactive, forgetful, impatient, and disassociated. Resting is an important skill and essential part of life and learning how to be good at rest can help combat psychological challenges like brain fog, burnout, adrenal fatigue, anxiety, and even depression. Practicing rest also cultivates a compassionate attitude and observant/non-judgmental mind, both of which foster positive emotions, re-connection, and resilience; all important qualities for being effective in your role as a law enforcement officer and for cultivating happiness in your life. In this course you will learn effective techniques that help the body and mind recuperate and recharge faster, giving you more space to handle what comes your way with a greater sense of grace, patience, enjoyment, and energy. This course will not only help you become better at your job but also better at your life.
